Since 1921, Barnardos has supported Aussie kids and families in powerful and effective ways.
Advocacy – We advocate for all Aussie kids by working with the government and policy-makers to improve laws, policies and practices. We raise awareness of the challenging issues affecting vulnerable kids. Whether it’s domestic violence, the rising cost of living, safe housing or complex needs, we ensure everyone understands the impact these issues have on children.
Family support – We help families with complex issues such as domestic family violence, poverty and homelessness through wrap-around services and specialist Aboriginal programs.
Youth support – We provide youth homelessness services, counselling and mediation, mentoring and advocacy, youth drop in and street outreach programs as well as drug and alcohol services.
Parenting support – We give parents the tools and confidence to care for their children, encouraging them to be their child’s first teacher, strengthening the parent/child relationship and their connection to community.
Early learning and education support – We focus on early learning, school readiness and engagement. We provide breakfast clubs and homework support through our Aboriginal learning centres.
Foster care and adoption – We provide short term foster care while we work with birth parents to have their children restored. If the courts rule a child cannot safely return home, we provide permanent foster care and open adoption.
We’re asking every gamer and live streamer to help generate more awareness and donations for all Aussie kids. Kids who can’t play because of disadvantage, abuse or neglect. Come help us change the game. One stream at a time.
